Project Introduction

For a Private Healthcare Client, we were tasked with rolling out 3000+ desktops in the space of 8 weeks across the UK’s healthcare system, using the power of Intune and Entra.

Challenges

Imaging Demand
Due to the high demand for pre-imaged desktops, suppliers were unable to keep up with the volume of orders.

Operation Rooms
During the project, the hospitals and operation rooms remained open, meaning we had to be clear and careful with the delivery of the project.

End user experience
Due to the vast difference from the old and new systems we were installing, there would be a significant change for end users, upgrading by two major OS versions.

Solutions

Dynamic Imaging Process with Intune Deployment
We implemented a streamlined imaging process with Microsoft Intune. Devices were shipped directly from suppliers and configured on-site via cloud-based provisioning, removing the reliance on pre-imaged devices and enabling fast, scalable deployment.

Careful Scheduling and Coordination for Hospital Operations
We coordinated with hospital administrators to schedule deployments during off-peak hours, minimizing disruption to operations and patient care. Backup devices were available to prevent downtime during critical procedures.

Comprehensive User Training and Support for OS Transition
Targeted training was offered to staff, including video tutorials, quick-start guides, and in-person support. A dedicated team was on-site to assist with questions and troubleshooting, ensuring a smooth transition and high user adoption.

Results

Efficient Deployment Process Across All Sites
The use of Intune for imaging allowed us to deploy over 3,000 desktops within the 8-week timeline. By leveraging cloud-based provisioning, devices were ready for use upon arrival, eliminating delays caused by suppliers and ensuring consistent configuration across all sites.

Zero Disruption to Hospital Operations
The project was completed without interrupting healthcare services. Operation rooms remained fully functional throughout, and critical hospital workflows were unaffected.
