Supporting SwerdnA Transport expand into the cold storage facility sector.

With operations set to resume immediately after the New Year, Swerdna required reliable connectivity and a site-wide network to be operational within a two-day window to support their critical business functions.

The challenge

Remote Location
Connectivity for Swerdna Transport was required at a remote Wiltshire site where leased lines were both cost-prohibitive and would take months to install.

Comprehensive Wi-Fi Coverage
Reliable Wi-Fi was needed across the entire site, including within -20°C freezer storage areas to support handheld stock scanners.

Lack of Mobile Coverage
The site had no mobile coverage, requiring an efficient solution to enable connectivity for the cloud-based VoIP system also being deployed.

The fix

Starlink Satellite Internet
Delivered high-speed internet connectivity to the Swerdna Transport site, bypassing the need for traditional leased lines.

Layer 3 PoE Network
Leveraged the existing structured cabling to establish a robust and efficient physical network infrastructure.

External Access Points (APs)
Deployed rugged external APs capable of withstanding the harsh conditions at the Swerdna Transport site, including the extreme temperatures in freezer storage areas.

The results

Same-Day Internet Connectivity
Internet access was established on the same day of our arrival, ensuring the site was operational without delay.

Site-Wide Wi-Fi Coverage
Comprehensive Wi-Fi coverage was in place to support the Swerdna Transport warehouse’s stock system rollout and operational needs.

VoIP Communication Ready
We completed the configuration of VoIP DDIs and a cloud PBX system, enabling seamless communication with suppliers and clients through a softphone app and multiple DECT phones throughout the warehouse.
